Climate Change: It’s Real. It’s Serious. And it’s up to us to Solve it. ...

Climate change is real, it's serious, and it is up to us to solve it.  By 2050, drought and chronic water shortage could impact a billion people leading to massive deaths. Let us explore the solutions and be part of the solution by reducing our dependence of fossil fuels. Let us reimagine our world energy future by working together.

Introduction to Climate Change

Our World!!! Our Home!!! facing the challenges of change and uncertainty. This video introduces the reality of climate change and how humans can contribute in a positive way to ensure a bright and positive future.

The sun's energy can power our energy needs

Mr. Albert Einstein stated that "Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another."  This statement reflects how energy behaves and it reflects the idea that energy never dies as it is continuously beings transferred through various forms. It is through this process that humans can harness the sun's energy and reduce the use of fossil fuels such as coal and oil.

By harnessing the sun's energy we can reduce our dependency on fossil fuels and therefore reduce climate change and global warming. The technology is available but a massive shift is needed on the part of people and governments around the world to bring a change. Unfortunately, it is in the best interest of big energy companies to avoid the use of solar energy because their insane and unbelievable profits will crumble.

The sun's energy can be harness by installing PV systems, using solar water heating systems, using solar thermal electricity systems, using passive solar energy systems, and solar heating and cooling systems. These are some of the methods that can have a big impact in reducing the amounts of greenhouse gases being emitted to the atmosphere right now. The benefits outweigh the initial investment and will surely provide a safer and cleaner world for our sons and daughters and the sons and daughtersof our sons and daughters.

Energy cannot be created nor destroyed...

Energy cannot be created nor destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another, according to scientists such as Albert Einstein. But how do we change the sun's energy so that it powers our homes and businesses without destroying the environment?

The sun is the answer to clean energy. The use of fossil fuels is only destroying the future and solutions must be implemented ASAP.

REFORESTATION: the act of planting one tree at a time to reduce global warming

So, what is REFORESTATION? it is the act of planting trees to recreate missing forests and strengthening existing ones. It is one of the solutions put in place during the Paris Climate Change Agreements. The scientific community has agreed that among the many solutions to reduce greenhouse gases it is to plant one tree at a time.

Reforestation has many benefits to the health of our world and the atmosphere. First, trees store carbon dioxide emitted by human actions. Second, after intaking carbon dioxide the trees then produce oxygen essential for human health. Third, trees and the soil they grow in collect rain water and naturally filter it before we use it. Fourth, the roots of trees keep soil in place preventing erosion, which is extremely important in mountainous regions. Finally, forests help sustain a high diversity of wildlife.

Cutting down trees for things we use everyday such as farmland, firewood, and paper is not always the best idea as it adds carbon into the atmosphere. So, REFORESTATION should be a priority for many countries around the world. A careful plan that takes into account geography and the benefits or reforestation should be carefully consider in order to help future generations. Some countries have have been leading the world taking initiatives for reforestation projects such as China, India, Costa Rica, and the United States.

Reforestation: Impact on Climate - planting one tree at a time!

Deforestation is the act of cutting down trees for human use. Deforestation is causing global disasters when it comes to reducing greenhouse emissions. Trees take in carbon dioxide, take in water and naturally filter it for human consumption, and their roots keep soil from eroding which is specially crucial in mountainous areas.

Mother nature works very hard to sustain life on earth. Now it is our turn to give something back in return. Let us start the process of REFORESTATION by planting one tree at a time. Let us make this our mission to save our planet.

How does agriculture affect climate change?

World population is rising every second. It is believed that at some time this year the world population will reach 7.5 billion people. This growth in population only means the demand for food will continue to rise and farmers must find creative ways to feed each human being on earth. In order to be able to do this, sacrifices must be made, such as increasing deforestation and increasing meat production to meet consumer demands.

Global demand for beef and for animal feed has led farmers to cut down millions of trees all over the world. Some people argue that these actions are a necessary evil as more people need to be fed and the only way to do this is by increasing deforestation and increasing meat production. It is estimated that meat production will continue to rise as richer countries demands for meat continues to rise. Meat coming from cows, pigs, and chicken are at an all time high and farmers are working very hard to fulfill the demand.

Agriculture's emissions do not come from cattle alone but also by the various methods of irrigation, tillage and soil management. Unfortunately, some of the above methods are necessary in order to continue producing the enormous amounts of food required to sustain 7.5 billion people. Agriculture is the most essential sector of the global economy and its importance has been demonstrated for thousands of years. But  we can definitely contribute and help farmers reduce greenhouse emissions by reducing the amounts of red meats we consume. Scientific data indicates that producing beef requires 28 times more land, six times more fertilizers, and 11 times more water than producing pork or chicken. This data clearly indicates that cattle growth seriously  harms our environment.

It order to cut greenhouse gas emissions people must be informed of the dangers involved in the consumption of red meat. If every human being decided to stop eating at least one pound of red meat per year we can reduce greenhouse gases significantly. The consumption of more vegetables will lead to a healthier diet and reduce global warming.
